    Needs container to place packets Arrived yesterday but was surprised it needed to go into a holder. The intro on the product says works with any refrigerator but so many warnings on the packet about coming into contact with it. So be aware if you do not have a holder in the fridge it needs something to hold it in place and not touching food. I have to find something to place the packets in which can attach to the crisper drawers. 3Handy to find them on Amazon, wish I could subscribe. I haven't run comparative test on this, but the general consensus is that it helps, and I do hate rotten lettuce. I"m glad they're available on Prime. I wish they were available as a "Subscribe and Save" so that I'd never forget to change them. 4Stop smells I got these as replacements for the built in filtering the vegetable tray of my fridge. They are perfect and work like the Blue Apple filters I use on the other side. (I first bought the other filters because only 1 drawer had a built-in). They are factory replacements and work perfectly. The price and shipping were perfect and as usual I love Amazon. 5Longer lasting fruit This initially came with my new refrigerator and I was very skeptical of its claim to prolong produce, but then I noticed strawberries didn t go soft as fast. Neither did blueberries or grapes. It significantly cut down on waste, which also meant we had produce longer without extra trips to the store. I wish it lasted longer as replacing every 3-6 months can get expensive. 4Expensive but worth the cost in saved food! These packets need changing ~every 6 months. 2 per veggie/fruit drawer. The great thing about these is that they really do work. It is just science. Ethylene is a gas emitted by some produce. However, this same gas is bad to some produce - causing those items to over-ripen more quickly. These packets help by absorbing the ethylene and keep your produce happy... and your food will last 25% longer (or more). Result: produce staying fresh for several more days... giving you a chance to eat it rather than throw it away. Cost savings! 5Glad I found them Glad I found these on Amazon. Went to Sears to get replacements for my Kenmore, found out they don't stock them, they didn't even know what I was talking about. These really extend the life of my produce quite a bit. The price is very reasonable for the benifit of not throwing away lettuce, peppers, carrots. 5FRESHNESS INDICATOR STRIP The original product worked great in helping to keep my produce fresh. When I bought my refrigerator, it came with the kit (the produce preserver and strip). The original strip was extremely helpful in letting you know when to change the packets; the colour started out as green and slowly changed to red. However, the strip in this package was already red and when I pressed the back, nothing happened. It makes me wonder if the packets are going to be effective at all. I will have to wait and see. The effectiveness will determine if I purchase this product again. 4Fresh Flow Product Preserver Ordered for my KitchenAid Refrigerator and it works perfectly. It also came with the tab indicator which I noticed many others who ordered different brands did not get so this was a bonus. Exactly as described by seller. 5Comes with the timing strip I bought these as replacement for the expired packets that came with my refrigerator. They are exact replacements for what I had which is what I wanted and they came with the steins to let you know when it s time to replace them. Best deal if found on them 5Price gouging fridge flooding junk (Why did Amazon move to this review to wrong product?) I very reluctantly ordered this because our semi-new fridge prompted that we needed to replace the filter. When we bought the fridge, and learned it had a water filter, I thought that's nice, but had no idea that MayTag itself would not supply filters for their own products. Instead, we're forced to search and research for someone that does sell replacement filters. What we've learned is that this is a captured market and the manufacturers are gouging customers. After you've spent a couple thousand on a new fridge that uses a water filter, you'll now need to spend $45+ every few months for filters, forever. Anyhow, the morning after installing this overpriced junk, I opened the fridge and water just poured out everywhere. It causes so much back pressure the connector and seals cannot handle it and the front shield that covers the filter fills up with water in a few minutes and then continues to flow and spill, continuously. Lesson learned. If you can find them, there are $18 versions of this filter that float around Amazon ever so often and they work perfectly.
