Customer Reviews

Sturdy tv mount at a great price We needed a heavy duty wall mount for a 50 inch Samsung plasma tv. A lot of the cheaper ones out there aren't rated high enough for what we have so I was glad to find this on Amazon for such a great price and with free shipping on Prime.Pacakge arrived quickly. Well packaged and delivered to the door by Fedex. Also included the noted free 6ft HDMI cable. Haven't used that as we have quality ones but a useful spare. I mounted the bracket myself even with it being pretty heavy. Installation was straightforward. It included all the necessary hardware for wall mounting although the pieces provided for the rails that mount to the tv weren't long enough so I grabbed the ones we used from a previous tv stand. The instructions note to use 4 fasteners when mounting to the wall but they include 6 in the package so I opted to use the extra 2 since I had a stud that lined up in the centre also. The included level was actually pretty accurate despite some comments from other reviewers although I used my own bubble to make sure. The mount has adjustments after fixing to the wall if you need to although I didn't have to. The 2 arms are very sturdy and allow for flexibility in mounting. This was especially helpful for me as I was looking to put towards a corner.Overall very satisfied with the purchase. Hoping that the arms don't sag over time given the weight of the tv but will update in the future. 5Cheap, easy, and rock hard Do you want a mount to survive the apocalypse?! Well you landed on the right item. I feel almost embarrassed I got this for a mere 55 inch television. I actually heard the mount laugh at me and ask for more weight. It's like Arnold bolted into your studs and he just cups your television like dumbbells. Easy to install, comes with everything you'll need, worked perfect for my Vizio 55", no issues whatsoever. Couldn't be more pleased, hanging a tv is nerve racking experience anyway. I couldn't be more confident my tv would hold steady in a cat five hurricane if my roof was torn off. 5Installation was easy. The mount is very heavy EDIT: I have knocked the product by two stars. By all means I still recommend it, but I would go to a hardware store and pickup higher quality hardware. After moving the mount once or twice I had one of the bolts snap in the wall. Here's hoping the rest come out (I no longer wall mount).Installation was easy. The mount is very heavy, I installed solo but two people definitely recommended. NOTE: The included bubble level should not be counted on. I was being impatient clearly in deciding to install myself, but even so measured so many times carefully... Two bolts in and the level nearly put me onto a panic. Remembering some similar comments I grabbed my actual level and sure enough near perfect! The instructions and pieces did not match up, but it was super easy to figure out what was what (errors were in which pieces were part "a", "b", etc). The set included all the hardware I could imagine one would ever need, many different bolts and spacers of various sizes.Only real negative I have to say is adjusting the tilt is very tough. I don't have big hands and I can just barely get enough finger back there to get those knobs turned. Most will set the tilt once and not mess with it again so not a big deal but yea. 3Perfect for mounting a heavy Plasma a foot away from a wall. I needed to find a solid wall mount replacement for a 64" Plasma (much heavier than an equivalently sized LCD) that could move the panel about a foot away from the wall. We were adding full length curtains along the entire wall behind the panel that would require clearance for heat between the fabric and the TV. I chose this mount because of the scissor arms. It just looked more stable than single armed units. It also looked like I could just hang a panel of curtain between the arms so that when finished the panel would appear to float in front of a continuous expanse of fabric.I am very pleased with the result. I was able to mount it to two vertical studs in the wall so this unit feels rock solid. With all the accessories included I had no issues getting it attached to the wall or to the panel. My application does not call for the panel to move in or out or to odd angles, so I can't speak to any problems associated with frequent changes. I just want it to float away from the wall and remain solidly in place. Fortunately, I found several adjustments that let me fine tune the finished angle so that the TV was perfectly level when I finished. It came out exactly as I'd hoped.I would definitely buy more of these in the future if I needed a swivel mount. 5Best of the best. (just one flaw) First things first. this thing is HEAVY DUTY. Not for a wimpy little tv. The mount weight about 27 lbs. Great stability, which is why you want a two arm stand, and not a single arm. Installation is easy, and the thing comes with a lot of extra screws, so you can mount it in different surfaces, and with three sizes for screws, each in two lengths for the back of the tv. Even spacers, in case the back of your tv is curved. Well made. There is only one complaint I have. I read it in another review here, so I was watching for it. Like the other reviewer said, the built in bubble level is WAY OFF. Not even close. Use your own level to level the frame that mounts to your wall. When mounted, level the front rail. The 4 bolts in front on mine were not tight, and it was not square to the back, so leveling the front, then tightening those 4 bolts is necessary. The knobs that control the tilt feature are hard to reach with big hands. It's a tight squeeze between the back of the tv, and the front rail. I was able to reach them, though. Not a big problem, because once you set that, you're not going to change it (at least not often). Movement is stiff, like is should be. You don't want it flopping around at the slightest touch. That too is adjustable, simply by backing off the self locking nuts at the pivot points. Make sure you mount to at least one stud. I hit one right in the middle, and put 4 drywall anchors on each side. You are going to love it. 5Too many issues. I built a recess into a wall for a 55" TV and this mount looked to fit the bill. The TV is 2.5" deep and the recess is 5.5" deep so I wanted a mount 3" or less as I didn't want the TV to sit proud of the wall. This mount is listed as 2.5" compressed and that would be perfect but had I looked closer at the picture I would have seen that they don't include the brackets that actually hold the TV in their measurements. Adding the brackets means this mount actually holds the TV closer to 4" off the wall. If that was the only issue I'd live with it but the mount is not going to work. Out of the box the fasteners weren't tight enough so the mount had too much play in it. If I tighten it up enough to remove the play the mount was too tight to pull it off the wall. Since the TV is recessed that means I have to pull the TV by the edges and that would mean actually flexing the panel to get it to pull away from the wall. Also the included bubble level is worthless, it was off by about 1/4" after checking with 3 different levels so be warned. 2Installed Panasonic TH-50PX75U Plasma TV to 18 in wide studs Install went fine, my son and I did it without any problems.Mount has enough holes to accommodate up to 24 in studs. My TV weights 83.8 lbs and has a 26" hole pattern for the arm brackets. So with this mount I have about a thumb size of clearance on both sides. We just screwed the tighting screws down tight, but not too tight didn't want them to break.Sagged when we first got it up so used the tilt knobs on arm brackets to adjustment. Now no sag.The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because it didn't come with a 10 FT HDMI cable as described. It came with a 6 FT cable. I needed a 10 FT so that kind of made me mad.Good thing I had a 9 FT laying around my house. 4Possible install issues/flaws It's okay For the price. Features are so so.First. Find out how wide apart your studs are - the holes in the back might not allow enough coverage to span across at least two studs --- especially when you're trying to center the TV to your room and not based on the studs. I was able to bolt down using the middle and right side only. Oh. And I had to drill some extra lag bolt holes in the middle slightly off center to stretch out coverge. A 3/4 plywood bolted to the studs would fix that but it would look ugly if not painted and finished. Or you can bust the wall and add studs where they needed to be - but that takes patching and painting. Those ideas not recommended for the below average diy person.Second. The tilt was hard to use with a 65" border less TV attached. Too much force to use for adjustment. Maybe it would have helped if there were two people. I don't think it's designed to be moved "on the fly". Most likely the adjustments should be made prior to sticking your TV on there. Now. Because I haven't tightened the tilt. When I want to move my TV it easiky tilts up. But hard to readjust back. My fault totally.Third. This thing is great with positioning but again with an almost border less flat panel and the weight it bears - moving the TV puts a lot of pressure onto the screen - it would be nice if there were handles in the back to help with moving it around.I'm not sure if WD40 would help.Fourth. The longest screws to mount the TV weren't long enough for a Samsung 65" 2015 model for the bottom. It will push in the plastic in the bottom due to the curve. The spacers provided would have worked but the screws weren't long enough. I ended up using the screws that came with the sound bar mount (not suggested based on your setup. Waste of my $)All in all - it's decent for the price. It seems sturdy. - but that all depends on the installers skill set. I would be afraid If it was in a fully extended position and an earthquake happened (so cal resident) I'm hesitant based on the short screws and the fact that I have lopsided bolting instead of solid side to side bolting.I would buy it again if I knew the exact placement of my studs and it fit perfectly in relation to my room/furniture/etc. 3Covers larger stud gaps (24") and very durable, but hampered by a few minor issues. Heavy and difficult to install, but amazingly robust. I'm pretty sure you could use this as an engine hoist in a pinch. I have noticed a few strengths (and weaknesses) that may inform your purchase.Pros- Remarkably durable/heavy-duty Can cover larger stud gaps (20"+, a lot of others will only go to 16" gaps) Technically does articulateCons- Four bolts holding television mount to the swing arms are slightly lose, as a result the tv screen can be a bit wobbly when being articulated. NBD, just rotate it back Bolts/clips for screen pitch are a little weak. (partially my fault with my absurdly heavy tv) over time or when articulating, screen pitches down and has to be readjusted/bolts retightened (and it's kind of a pain.)All in all, it's not a bad product, and there aren't many competitors that can cover larger (24") stud gaps. This one definitely will and hold remarkably heavy TVs while doing it. 3Not convinced if it'll hold, waiting a couple of days to see if it bends Update 3/12/16: Ended up buying a Sanus SLF9 on Costco so I'm returning this one.Just received this item today (3/8/16) and assembled it.The instructions are very basic at best, but if you have assembled other mounts before you should have no big problems. The base feels very strong when you unpack it.Attaching the mount to the wall was definitely the easiest part, after that it was just a major pain to attach the display to the base without the tilt knobs falling over and after that it was incredibly hard to level the TV.After attaching the display the base doesn't feel that strong, it feels like the arms are bending so I'll just give it a couple of days to see if they really are bending or is just me.I'm using the base with a 60" Vizio LCD and compared to the echogear base I used on my 70" Living Room TV, this base feels cheap and fragile. Too bad I had to return the echogear base I bought for this TV because the studs on my room are 24" apart and it only works if they are 18" apart. If after a couple of days my TV is still there and I'm convinced this thing is not bending I'll keep it. 2
