Customer Reviews

awesome keychain multi tool/pocket clip awesome keychain multi tool/pocket clip. all the functions work well, but one issue i had with it when i 1st got it was that i had a hard time getting the pocket clip to slide into my pockets because it was too tight and it started to tear the fabric of my khakis and jeans. i fixed it myself, but it was kind of inconvenient. 4On the whole, I like it. I bought the titanium version of this tool. I have had it on my keys for a few months now. On the whole, I like it.Pros:1. The pocket clip is very nice. I use it daily. It makes carrying my keys a lot more comfortable. Sometimes I have to check more often that I still have my keys, because I can t feel them in my pocket when I use the clip.2. It's very light and strong. I have dropped it many times with no issues.3. It is useful enough. I use it as a bottle opener and as a pry tool regularly.4. I can bring it anywhere. I have flown with it domestically in the US and internationally to Canada. It could be they just missed it, but it was on my keys out in the open.5. It is a thoughtful tool. I don't use the wrenches today, but I have tried them and they fit very precisely to the various sizes of nuts and bits. I can also use the bit driver for any of my extra Leatherman multitool bits.Cons:1. The only big draw back is the bottle opener. It is not easy to use if you haven t seen it before. There is a video on the griffin tool website that shows you how to use it. I can use it one handed now, but it was awkward in the beginning. 4Always my EDC tool of choice Love this product. I've been using it as a key suspension hook almost everyday for several months now. I have found that many random little bolt heads fit inside this tool and it works great to tighten or loosen them right up! I use the pry bar tool all the time at work to open paint cans. The scoring tool works okay i mainly have used the edge of the pry tool to score or open boxes. The bottle opener works but it works best the more you use it. First 5 or so I cracked open took a little effort and as you get used to it the easier it becomes! I would def buy another if something happened to this one. Additionally I forgot the bit driver, that too works well. Maybe a bit slower than a screw driver but it gets to job done 5I'm pretty "blah" about this really I'm pretty "blah" about this really. The bottle opener is a pain. I can't decide if it's too sharp, too shallow, or what but it requires 2-3 tries before it will remove the cap with several people trying it now. The part that "clips" onto your pocket/belt loop is great but the edges are unfinished so the whole thing ends up being rather sharp. It isn't going to cut you open or anything but you definitely know when you hit it by mistake. It's a piece of steel that costs $20. Finishing the edges shouldn't really detract too much from the margins on it. 3Nice size for EDC, but edges need to be smoked out Overall a nice EDC addition to save the point of your knife. It's also a great alternative to carrying a SAK to accompany your primary blade. Can slap it on a key chain or pack. Simple with good design. My only gripe is it has sharp edges. 4I love the design and the idea, but it's not worth the money. Good:Clip: Works well. But it also comes with a:WARNING:When you put your hand down bottle opener will occasional jam in between your finger and your nail.Scoring Tool: There's a picture that shows what it looks like on soft wood. It works, and does not seem to harm the tool in the process.Bottle Opener: It takes some fiddling, but you can open bottles with one hand when you get used to it. Works pretty well.Bonus: There's a space between the hex wrench and the open part of the clip you can use to turn the square nuts on a bicycle, it is not meant for that purpose and should not be your primary tool, but if you're in a pinch it would work.Bad:The flat head screwdriver: anything you try to drive will ruin your pocket tool. I put this tool through the exact same tasks as my night ize pocket tool and you can see the results in the pictures. I used both to unscrew and tighten my Gerber EAB, and unscrew and tighten my Leatherman tread. What you will see in the picture arn't scratches, those are dents made from doing those three tasks. The steel is bad. If you want to buy one either consider going for the night Ize doohicky, a slimmer pocket clip, or take the leap and buy the titanium version. The file: it's terrible, don't expect to get anything done with it.The pry bar: You cannot get it under anything, it's too thick. But if you could I assume you would just dent it just like the screwdriver. Don't expect to be able to use it as a pry bar.Overall, I regret purchasing this item mainly because the main part of the tool is just not functional. It has all those dents after using it two times, and I don't feel comfortable that it will hold up as a tool. It's just a piece of art that dangles on a key chain. For those wondering: Yes, I used a Victorinox magnifying glass to take my pictures. :P 1gimick.. not functional... well built but you'll never really need this thing... it was just one of those things to buyyou know how it goes. 3Needs some work This was my first clip to attempt hanging keys inside pocket. It worked well, and I loved the fact that it was a multi-tool... in theory. I ended up returning this, mainly because I stabbed myself almost every time I put my hand in my pocket. It wasn't slicing my hand open or anything, but the screwdriver edge still caused some irritation every time I put my hand in my pocket. Also, the bottle opener worked, but it was a little awkward to use. 2So many uses & so well built! Most used are the pocket clip and scoring functions along with occasional scraping/ prying and to pop a bottle cap. This multitool is a work of genius - also available in other sizes/designs/materials. 5Pretty cool little device Pretty cool little device. I just wish there was a dedicated keychain hole on the flathead screwdriver side, it takes a lot of effort to get on and off a keychain and for bottle-opening or using the 1/4'' driver which are arguably the two most useful parts the keys get in the way when mounted that direction. I might try to drill my own hole on the other end then it will be perfect. 4
