Customer Reviews

I got happily 'hosed' Very sturdy and good color. I was using this for putting shingles on my roof. The color helped me to notice it. The hose is very flexible and easy to cover most of my roof. Also, it wound up easily to store.Be warned. I am new to using pneumatic tools and did not know that I needed to buy connectors to make it usable. Luckily I bought a swivel plug ( Bostitch BTFP72333 Industrial 1/4-Inch Series Swivel Plug with 1/4-Inch NPT Male Thread) and had the female connector around my house. I highly recommend the swivel plug. It made the job much easier. 5Just what I needed. Fair price. This is a high quality hose for 1/4 inch connectors. For the price, you get 50 feet of high quality hose, but no connectors. You'll need to get them elsewhere. The threaded ends on this hose are beveled so it makes for a great seal. I don't know, but that may be standard for pressure hoses. If not, then it's a great feature.I think this is a great hose, but it may be a little thick for my little compressor. I'm afraid, because of the weight and strength of this hose, that I run the risk of breaking the connector off on the compressor. Also, because of the thickness and volume of space within the hose, hooking it up to my little compressor decompresses the tank quite a bit. If I had to do it again, I would probably purchase a thinner hose. None the less, this hose performs excellently and I'm confident that it will last me my entire life. 5Best hose you can buy at a great price. You can buy cheaper hoses but you cannot buy better. Spend just a few cold days fighting a cheap PVC hose and you will become a believer in rubber air hoses. Avoid the frustration and buy a good rubber hose right off the bat. While a little more expensive, rubber hoses are more flexible and much easier to handle than PVC.This GoodYear hose is the best I have used and Amazon's price is unbeatable. The hose is rated at 250psi, is built of very high grade materials, is abrasion resistant, and oil resistant. Best of all the hose remains very flexible even in colder weather. (Goodyear typically tests their hoses at 4 times the rated working pressure so this hose will most likely handle more pressure than your compressor will.)I tried the PVC route when I got tired of dragging my old hose between the house and garage. While looking for a new air hose all I could find was PVC, so I bought one. After spending just a few frustrating days trying to deal with the very stiff springy coils, I decided enough was enough and ordered this hose from Amazon. The hose coils nicely and is easy to pull behind while you work. The rubber hose lays flat with no springy coils to snag on studs, joists, or saw horses.I am very impressed with the quality of this air hose. This is a great air hose at a great price. I highly recommend this hose. 5It works. What can I say? It is a high pressure air hose for an air compressor. It has standard threaded fittings on each end and it gets the air from the compressor to your air tool. It isn't as stiff as some I've used so it can be looped around a hook fairly easily. 5Don't Cheat Yourself With Bargain Hoses Most air hoses that come with or are sold in conjunction with home air compressors are cheap 1/4" vinyl. Beware of those hoses since vinyl is prone to cracking and almost all air tools are rated with 3/8" hose. This is a good quality hose that supplies the full amount of air most air tools need and is oil resistant so it will resist cracking more than the cheaper hoses. I noticed a few one star reviews; not sure what those reviewers got but this hose was well made and the fitting were true and didn't leak. Not much else to say other than it was worth the $30 to get the air I needed delivered to my tools. 5Didn't last one day, but could be bad luck I purchased a very similar hose to this years ago with the good year name on it. I thought this would be the same hose. I still have the good year hose and you can tell that hose has had lots of use. I needed another 50 foot hose so I bought this continental hose which appeared to be the same quality. I can't tell the difference, but the good year hose has lasted years and this hose only lasted me a few days. I don't know what punctured it or if it was bad luck, but it seems you get what you pay for. That good year hose that is almost identical from years ago was a bit more expensive. Maybe $50 if I remember correctly. This one is lower priced. I gave it two stars because it only lasted me one day on my residing project. Ground was covered in nails, but again both hoses were out and being used. I've dragged the good year one through nails, sharp doorways, corners, stuck under scaffolding and ladders and it is still going strong. I didn't return it because it could have been my doing, but at the same time I have to give a 2 star review because it seems unlikely that they can be the same quality. 2sturdy and consistent This hose is both sturdy and consistent. Since it is rubber it gets softer when it is up on a hot roof in the summer and it gets stiffer when it is used in freezing weather. But it resists tangling as long as I take the time to get the twist out as I unroll it. I have had no problem with soft spots, blow outs nor leaks. It has resisted the little bit of oil I've gotten on it. The fittings are solidly placed, male on one end and female on the other so I can put the ends together and keep the dirt out when not in use.And as an additional positive, though I doubt many will encounter the situation, it has so far resisted being chewed by a pair of pigmy goats which like to follow me and browse when I am working outdoors!I usually run most of my tools at a minimum pressure of 80 PSI, but there are a few of the that need 100 PSI. This hose handles those pressures well, so it should easily handle lower pressure jobs. I've bought 3 compressors in my life but my favorite is Makita MAC2400 Big Bore 2.5 HP Air Compressor. As compressors go it is quiet and light, easily carried with one hand. (Well, easy for me, maybe not for you.) 5Hose is great. Worked as expected right out of the box Hose is great. Worked as expected right out of the box. Bought it with an 18 piece fitting set that was recommended.Just an FYI: After receiving this hose I was disappointed that it was not a GoodYear but was branded as a Continental. I Googled Goodyear Air hoses and discovered the following, "Goodyear Air Hose is now owned by Continental. Same hose, same manufacturing facility. During transition, hose may be branded Goodyear or Continental, but eventually will all ship with Continental brand name." 5Durable with larger I.D. on the crimped 1/4" MPT fittings than many new lightweight hoses I bought this 10 years ago (2008) and it's still going strong. Mine was Goodyear, not sure about Continental. This has 1/4" MPT fittings with a larger I.D. than a lot of the new, lightweight air hoses if that's important to you. It should be if you care about high flow. Why upgrade to high flow fittings everywhere else when your 3/8" hose has puny 1/4" I.D. on the 1/4" MPT fittings? This hose is kind of heavy and gets a sort of permanent set to it with coils that only like to be coiled up a certain way. Other than that, it's heavy and durable and will last a long time for homeowner use anyway. 5Great hose for the price... I ordered this at the same time I ordered the Bostich air compressor and 3 staple gun combo (reconditioned). The hose that came with the Bostich was OK, but was PVC and not very flexible, so I've only used the yellow Goodyear hose, and I've installed 800 sq ft of hardware flooring, and 1000+ linear feet of floor and door trim, and the Goodyear hose has been great. It doesn't kink, it's easy to rewind/coil on top of my compressor, and doesn't leave a scratch or mar on the work I've installed. I'm not gentle with it, and it looks brand new after a couple of weeks of use. I haven't seen a hose for this price that was constructed this well. I've seen other reviews that say it's not a "real" GoodYear hose, and I can't say if it is or it's not... Just that's it's been fine for me, and IF if have any problems, I know amazon.com will take care of it and even pay my return shipping (I'm a amazon Prime member). Go look at what $20 will get you at any hardware/tool store for an air hose, and it won't be anywhere near what this hose is. One Note!!! this hose only has the threaded ends, so you will need to buy the quick connector couplings to attach it to your compressor and/or air tools if they have the standard couplings... it only cost me an extra couple of bucks for the connectors at a major hardware retailer with the big orange sign... and was still half the price of their lowest cost hose that they sold. Just buy it if you need an extra hose... you can always return it, but if yours is as good as mine, you'll be happy with it. 4
