Customer Reviews

These are what you need. Only this solved my issue of long USB run. Prior I had cheaper ones 2 or 3 connected and the data did not transmit. These "active" UBS cables fixed that in a flash! Highly recommended. One would wonder why would anyone ever need a USB coed at longer lengths? Well in my home I have the computer at the end of a 27' room and the monitor at the other end. So I needed a long USB to connect the keyboard * mouse. The PC needed to be behind the TV to allow me to connect it to the TV via HDMI because it is epic to be able to play vids & surf the net on the big screen. Try it break free of the limitations designed to take away your freedoms & options concerning video & internet. If anyone has a Smart TV 65" or above you owe it to yourself to connect your PC to it and get a 2nd monitor near your lazyboy chair at the other end of the room. Most if not all smart TV's have limited internet ability and no flash designed that way to keep you like cows moving forward through gates they choose to coerce you to pay up for as many services as they can. Break free! 5Works great as a USB cable, but concerned about audio distortion for USB microphone. I've got a layout problem with recording audio at home, so I bought this cable to extend my CAD U37 USB microphone from a quiet room to my computer in another part of the house. It works just like it should, didn't need an extra power hub at the mic end...but after a few tests I discovered that it's causing audio distortion that doesn't happen when I use only the 3 meter cable that came with my mic - it makes every other word sound oddly cut off or dulled right at the end, not sure why. Will keep because it's still a useful USB cable extender, but if you're using it for audio recording, you might want to test the difference with/without it like I did. 5Excellent Cable, But Not For Everything This is clearly a well designed and well constructed cable, and the workmanship is top-notch. It should work nicely for most applications that the average user would put it to. BUT, be aware, this cable will NOT work with devices that require power for more than just data transfer. An example of this would be external USB powered hard drives (e.g WD Passport), high-powered USB WiFI adapters (e.g. ALFA Cards), and similar powered USB devices requiring higher amounts of power to function. (Exception: it WILL work with external hard drives that have their own power sources. In other words, hard drive with their own plug-in power adapter.)It probably will not charge or power most devices such as iPhones, iPads, iPods (a lot of 'i's' I know) and the like. However, it works fine with devices requiring very little power, or no power at all, but only requiring a transmission medium for data transfer. For example, it will work fine with printers and USB flash drives. I plugged mine in to several of my USB flash drives and they all work fine with it. It also works with the printer. However, when plugging it in to my external USB powered hard drives (which contain a motor which must receive adequate power), it does not work. If in doubt, I suggest you first contact the manufacturer of the device for which you intend to use this cable. 4Look no further.. Works great for me. I've used it for two things. One is for an Xbox 360 controller. It works perfectly for that. The controller requires 400mA of power.Secondly, I've used it to tether a Galaxy S7 Active (4000mah battery). It lets me put the phone in a better spot for faster speeds/better connection, and it not only works perfectly at transferring the data, but it IS able to charge my phone, too. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I do plug it in a USB 3.0 port with the quick charging enabled on my motherboard. I know USB 3.0, alone, is supposed to be able to supply .9mA, so I do wonder if the extra amperage is able to be pushed or not. But I do know it can actually charge my phone while tethering. I was more than satisfied. 5Works Great! I purchased this to provide an extension for a Punchlight USB recording indicator lamp for my studio. The Punchlight USB requires 250mA to function and the BlueRigger passes plenty of power. I connected a 16ft Tripp Lite active extender into the BlueRigger and a 15' standard USB cable into that, about 63 ft, and the Punchlight worked perfect with plenty of current and reach. I also plugged my Droid Razr into the BlueRigger and was able to slow charge. No problems with data transfer either. Obviously these cables aren't intended for heavy current devices as it can only pass what is left of the 500mA hub supply after the cable's requirements, which seem to be pretty low. Interestingly I also tried a Tripp Lite U026-10M 33 ft and could not get sufficient power. Their 16ft version did not suffer the same shortcoming.BlueRigger is an excellent cable, well built, no problems and a great price to boot.*Edit*For those who find the info useful this cable has a very low current requirement which leaves about 450mA available for devices plugged into it. BlueRigger responded to the current usage on this cable as follows:Dear Customer,Thank you for your interest in our products. The USB Extension cable with consume around 50mA current for its functionality. Please do let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.Thank youBlueRigger LLC 5The no loss of the run and power to the dongle was the ticket to getting rid of the loss of being inside the trailer walls and allowed me to use my in laptop wifi card to run as a hotspot for my smart tv and and linux laptop This was the ticket to getting wifi at my campground this summer. It allowed me to remote the usb wifi dongle from my laptop in the trailer to the focal point of a used satalite dish that i set up upside down for long distance use to get service thru two rows of heavy trees at 2.5 gb rates. The no loss of the run and power to the dongle was the ticket to getting rid of the loss of being inside the trailer walls and allowed me to use my in laptop wifi card to run as a hotspot for my smart tv and and linux laptop. Was able to browse the internet and stream Netflix without any dropouts all summer long. But you would not believe the number of people walking thru the campground that thought that idot has his dish upside down. Ha! Of course they had no wifi service.either. The cable is well made and fit nicely in my lnb housing with the usb wifi ongle made out of a 1inch pvc conduit housing junction box. 5It works well for the Application. The technical discussion educated me to make an informed buying decision The USB extender is working for my application quite well.My desktop Computer is two rooms away from the WiFi Router for our internet service. There are three metal bearing walls that the signal must pass through to get to the WiFi adapter on my computer. The signal strength of my router is unstable because it is degraded by the router signals of the townhouses that surround us in our Villa cluster. That caused my computer to only get WiFi about 50% of the time at inconvenient times of the day.The Blue Rigger signal amplifier cable allowed me to put the WiFi Adapter beyond the USB 2.0 15 ft. length limit for highspeed data. Due to the extra length which the amplifier allows (32 ft) I was able to route the cable to a place in the next room where it is at lease 1/3 closer to the router and where it has a direct line of sight to the Router through a normally open doorway. The result is that I rarely loose connectivity to our WiFi network. Thank you BlueRigger for a good product and, more importantly, Specifications and operating parameters that I could understand which allowed me to recognize that I needed an Amplified cable and to be able to buy the correct one for the job.In the future I'll look to your products for my cabling needs.dave 5Works great. Needed a repeater so I could run a ... Works great. Needed a repeater so I could run a 4 port hub to my living room so I can play Steam games from there without using a large amount of extensions. Combine this with a longer HDMI cord if you are brave enough to run cable, and you'll have a lagless remote solution with no USB drop outs form your PC to another room that can even charge devices. It's cheaper than Steam link and very effective. Cable itself is very thick and feels higher quality than most cheap cables. If you know anything about USB signals, you can't run a normal unpowered cable too far without getting drop outs. Save yourself some stress with extensions as I tried before just spending money on a repeater and a hub. 5Works Perfectly I've been using this cable to tether my Pentax K-1 to Lightroom at large events for 2 years now. It's never given me any problems. I use it in combination with a passive 15' USB cable with an angled micro-A end that connects to the camera, which gives me a 48 foot range from my laptop. The other end of the active cable plugs into a powered USB 3 hub, which itself is connected to the laptop. This setup has been perfectly reliable for countless hours-long photo sessions where the camera is in one room and the laptop is at a separate, selling table. This cable is one of the only things in my setup that I never give any thought to, because it "just works", and that's awesome. People walk all over it, it gets yanked on constantly, the end get tied into a knot to keep it from coming apart from the passive cable, and yet this cable keeps on doing what it does best: not give me grief. The only reason I came back to write a review is because I was considering using a longer active cable to give myself even more distance, but unfortunately the 33 foot option is the longest in this brand. I hesitate to try a different brand since this one has been so reliable, and I doubt that joining two of these together would give me the reliability I need. Oh well, time to experiment, I guess. 5Works with my USB audio interface My recording setup: the microphone and headphones are in a converted walk in closet, the desktop computer with recording software is in another room. I can control the recording software from the closet using a remote desktop connection. I wanted to have my USB 2.0 audio interface (Tascam US 144 MKII, the audio interface gets power via USB, it does not have a separate power supply) in the closet with me so I can easily adjust the input level, microphone level, and input/computer balance. (Previously I had the interface next to the computer and had to walk back and forth from the closet to the computer every time I wanted to change something).Problem was, the distance from the closet to the computer is longer than the 16.5 feet which is said to be the maximum length for a USB 2.0 cable.Searching online, I found another reviewer with the same setup who found that the Bluerigger 32ft cable worked. I emailed Bluerigger asking if the cable would work with my audio interface; Bluerigger responded promptly that yes, it would work. So, I have just tried it, recording a guitar track and overdubbing a vocal. It works. Now the signal from the headphone output on my audio interface wasn't quite loud enough. Probably not as much voltage is getting through the 32ft cable. But I plugged the line outs from the interface into a headphone amp I have in the closet, problem solved. So far so good. If any problems become apparent I will update this review. For now, three cheers for Bluerigger. 5
